Passionflower extract, Novofit is used as a sedative in the case of neurasthenia, insomnia, vegetative disorders in the climacteric period, in the case of post-contusion and post-influenza asthenia, during the treatment of colic.

Passiflora, or passionflower, also clockwork, martyr (Passiflora) is a genus of decorative perennial herbaceous vines with a creeping, tendril-like stem that reaches 10 m in length. The leaves are simple, on long petioles, deeply three-parted, 6–18 cm long and 8–20 cm wide, on both sides on veins, weakly pubescent. The flowers are single, on long peduncles, regular, with a double perianth, 7–9 cm in diameter. The five lanceolate sepals have spiny outgrowths on their tops. The corolla consists of 5 free petals and a “crown” with two rings of thread-like ends. The fruit is an edible egg-shaped berry, green-yellow in color, sweet-sour in taste, which falls after ripening.
